Plant Vascular Variants Database

The Plant Vascular Variants Database implements the vascular variants framework introduced by Cunha-Neto (2023) to organize information on alternative vascular development in seed plants. Using this framework, the global database compiles structural categories (Fig. 1), historical terminology, and phylogenetic data to support comparative and evolutionary research.

The global database is organized into four main components:

Table 1 | Categories and patterns of vascular variants.
Table 2 | Distribution of vascular variants across seed plants.
Table 3 | Terminology historically used for vascular variants.
Table 4 | Glossary of terms associated with vascular variants.

The database also includes taxon-specific datasets organized as separate modules, developed through collaborative research on particular plant groups.
